Most people refer to faith formation as "CCD" which stands for "Confraternity of Christian Doctrine", which was founded in the 16th Century, when more formal catechesis was demanded. Catechists belonged to a confraternity to teach Christian doctrine (catechism). This continues today. Faith Formation at Sacred Heart seeks to educate and form children and youth in Christian doctrine and a life of faith, especially for preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation.
